What's Domain Name?

Without Domain name, you have to remember numbers like "209.176.46.137" which is rather hard to do for most of us. We can remember "Lewiscom.net" a lot better than series of numbers. We use the same thing for telephone, too. 1-800-CALL-ATT! Remember! Domain name is the same thing.

Domain name is managed by InterNIC. Cost is only $35/year (You have to pay for the first two years in advance.) and they bill you directly. You can pay by credit card (http://rs.internic.net/pay) or by check.

NET:	Internet related business
ORG:	Non-profit organization
INT:	International organization established by treaties
GOV:	US federal government
MIL:	US military
