Tree Service Tips

Choosing an arborist who can accurately identify, diagnose and improve the health of your trees can be challenging. Here are few suggestions to make the process a little easier and help you find someone you can trust.

Request more than one estimate from your local tree experts. Planning ahead and taking the time to get a couple or more opinions, unless you have an emergency situation, is often well worth the wait. This will give you an idea about the services different tree care professionals recommend, the average cost of the tree care needed and you may have the opportunity to meet some of the people who will be working on your property. Although, it is common in the tree care industry to send someone who will estimate the tree service requested and have another person or crew who will be working with and sometimes in your trees. miami tree service experts

Choose a local certified arborist. Find someone who knows how to identify trees, is familiar with the specific types of trees on your property and has experience with their unique qualities.

Check to see if the company or individual is licensed and insured before working on your property.

Be informed. One of my favorite things is when I go to meet a person about their trees and they already know what types of trees grow on their property and have an understand their basic needs and characteristics. While not everyone will be able to do this, these are few things you can do to give yourself an advantage. If you have the time, read a little about tree care or watch a short video. This will prepare you for the next tip.

Ask questions. A few questioned can go a long ways and it gives you an opportunity to demonstrate that the well-being of your trees is important to you.

Questions frequently asked: Do you know what kind of tree this is? What are some of the common problems or pest associated with this type of tree? Does my tree need water in the winter? Does this tree appear to be healthy and safe? When is the best time of year to prune trees? How long have you been caring for trees in this area and do you have any experience with working this type tree?

Finding a tree care professional who can help you care for your trees today and in the years to come is an investment worth making. A skilled arborist can help improve the safety and appearance of your trees now and may save you money, by taking preventive action when necessary, in the future.
